Bat biodiversity in the City

Recording and protecting the bats of Birmingham and the Black Country

We conserve urban bat populations through biological recording and awareness raising.

The Birmingham and Black Country Bat Group (our friends call us BrumBats) was established in 1985 and re-launched in 2006. Since that time we’ve been working tirelessly to not only record and conserve bat populations in our county, but also to raise awareness of the importance of urban biodiversity. You’re probably thinking that this sounds pretty epic and you’d like to get involved, right? Well, hop on over to our Volunteer page and find out how you can be a part of the magic, the science and the awesomeness!
